    Porsche Air Suspension Explained

    Porsche air suspension replaces conventional coil springs with pneumatic spring elements and adds compressors, reservoirs, valves, lines, sensors and electronic control. PASM may be integrated but is not the same system.

    What the system does

    • Adjusts ride height and spring behaviour.
    • Maintains height as load changes within system limits.
    • Works with adaptive damping and active chassis systems where fitted.

    Models and applications

    • Selected Cayenne and Panamera variants.
    • Selected Macan configurations.
    • Taycan configurations with adaptive air suspension.

    Normal characteristics

    • Small controlled height changes can occur after locking or mode selection.
    • Compressor operation for a limited period can be normal.
    • Available height settings depend on speed and mode.

    Warning signs

    • One corner or axle drops after parking.
    • Vehicle lifts slowly, compressor runs repeatedly or a warning appears.
    • Ride height becomes uneven or unavailable.

    Diagnostic considerations

    • Measure height over time and check for leaks.
    • Use supported pressure, temperature, sensor and actuation data.
    • Inspect compressor, valve block, reservoir, lines and air springs before selecting parts.
