Porsche Sport Chrono Explained
Sport Chrono is an equipment package whose functions vary by model and generation. It can change drive modes and powertrain or chassis responses; the dashboard clock is only the most visible element.
What the system does
- Provides driver-selectable performance modes.
- Changes supported engine, transmission and chassis strategies.
- May add launch or timed-performance functions depending on application.
Models and applications
- 911, 718, Macan and Panamera applications by option and generation.
- Taycan functions differ because of its electric platform.
- Feature content must be confirmed from fitted equipment.
Normal characteristics
- Throttle, shift and damping response may change by mode.
- Not every Sport Chrono car has identical launch or overboost functions.
- Protective limits can override a requested function.
Warning signs

- Chronometer display fails while other functions work, or vice versa.
