Harsh or jerking gear changes
May involve gearbox control, adaptations, fluid condition, mounts, engine torque delivery or driveline play.

Mercedes model expertise
A G63 needs more than a generic Mercedes checklist. Digi-Tec scopes maintenance and diagnosis around the exact generation, AMG V8, transmission, transfer case, differential-lock system and fitted suspension—then confirms the work before repair begins.
Send the VIN, model year, mileage, warning text and when the symptom occurs. Workshop scope is confirmed for the exact vehicle.
Platforms covered
Badges can span several engine and chassis generations. Final compatibility is checked from the VIN and fitted systems.
Model-specific systems
The service display is the starting point, but vehicle use and history determine the final scope. Heavy urban use, towing, off-road driving or performance modifications can justify additional inspection without inventing a shorter universal interval.
Both engines are high-output biturbo V8s, but their layouts, control systems and service requirements differ. Oil or coolant residue around one component does not establish the source because the undertray and airflow can carry fluid away from the leak.
Earlier and later G63s do not share one gearbox. A shift concern must be matched to the fitted seven-speed or TCT 9G transmission and separated from engine torque, mount, propshaft, transfer-case or axle behaviour.
The G63 uses coil springs rather than Mercedes AIRMATIC air springs. Earlier W463 vehicles use rigid axles, while the 2018-on platform combines an independent front axle with a rigid rear axle and AMG-tuned adaptive damping.
A clean condenser face does not prove that the entire cooling stack has adequate airflow. The G63 packages several heat exchangers behind an upright front end, so temperature, fan operation, airflow and system pressure all matter.
The G63 combines Mercedes body electronics with AMG powertrain and G-Class four-wheel-drive controls. Stable 12-volt supply is essential, and later variants may also contain a 48-volt system that requires separate safety and diagnostic procedures.

Questions before booking
Useful answers first; vehicle-specific decisions still depend on inspection and recorded evidence.
Arrange the right first inspection
Send the VIN, year, mileage, warning message and symptoms. Digi-Tec will confirm the appropriate inspection and available booking options before work begins.
